Moment

Above the Crowd

The best details in a city are often the ones no one thinks to look up at.

Cities compete for your attention at street level.

Storefronts, traffic, conversations, movement.

But every once in a while, the real story is hanging overhead.

Walking through St Christopher's Place in London, I looked up and found a river of suspended flowers drifting between the buildings. By muting the city and allowing the reds to dominate, the installation became exactly what it felt like in that moment: an unexpected interruption to an ordinary afternoon.

Street photography isn't always about people.

Sometimes it's about discovering the detail that everyone else walked beneath without ever noticing.
