Observations

Observations are curated bodies of work shaped around a recurring idea, place, mood, or period.

Black-and-white photograph of a person descending an escalator at Helsinki Station, surrounded by deep shadows and reflections as a narrow beam of light catches the head and shoulder.

Observation

Passing Through

Three people. One escalator. A narrow opening of light.

A collection of street photographs showing people completely absorbed in waiting, reading, creating, and thinking.

Observation

Attention

Not everyone looking is paying attention. Some people wait. Some people search. Some people read. Some people disappear into their work. These moments have little to do with the cities they were photographed in and everything to do with the quiet worlds people carry with them. Attention is becoming one of the rarest things we have. Perhaps that’s why it has become one of my favorite subjects to photograph.

A collection of black-and-white street photographs showing everyday moments unfolding in different cities.

Observation

The City Never Pauses

The city doesn’t stop for photographs. That’s what makes street photography so fascinating. Nothing waits. Nothing repeats. Every frame exists for a fraction of a second before disappearing forever.
