Between Two Guardians
Death sits quietly at the center, not as something to fear, but as something remembered.
There are cultures where death is hidden.
And others where it is given color, symbols, and ceremony.
What drew me to this display wasn’t the skull itself. It was the balance. Three faces, each telling a different story, arranged with an almost ceremonial symmetry. Together they felt less like objects and more like guardians standing watch over memory.
Removing the color simplified the conversation. Without it, the textures, patterns, and expressions became the language.
Sometimes photography isn’t about making something beautiful.
It’s about noticing the beauty that already exists in unexpected places.
