Moment
Between Water and Sky
A small piece of life suspended between two enormous spaces.
There wasn’t much there.
A few houses.
Some trees.
Rock.
Water.
And a sky that seemed to occupy everything else. Perhaps that’s what stayed with me.
The farther away the island became, the smaller every sign of human life appeared. Even the bird seemed almost lost in the space above it.
Some photographs are about what happened. Others are about how a place felt. This one was always about the feeling.
Between water and sky.
